Importantly, the global pandemic has resulted in a dramatic shift in not only the value of Travel & Tourism, but the values of Travel & Tourism.

Our panel explore the challenges facing every destination in the world with regard to a safe, stable, and sustainable Travel & Tourism re-start.

Anita Mendiratta - Moderator

A committed Travel, Tourism & Development practitioner, Anita leads ANITA MENDIRATTA & Associates, a highly respected international consulting firm based in London, UK. 

Anita’s global, hands-on, cross-cultural, cross-industry experience enables her to feel the ‘heartbeat’ of nations – economic, social, political, cultural and environmental dynamics impacting and inspiring nations. Importantly, with proven acumen in mobilising impact across diplomatic, governmental and business spheres, her exceptional skills have earned her the trust needed to work directly with leadership teams, especially when facing crisis.

Brad Dean

Chief Executive Officer, Discover Puerto Rico

A University of Illinois graduate, Brad worked for General Electric, then onto Rank Corporation, which took him to Myrtle Beach. Moving to Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce to become President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, much success on, 2018 Brad was tapped to lead Discover Puerto Rico, the island’s Destination Marketing Organization created after Hurricane Maria.

San Juan based with his family, he holds various leadership roles including the U.S. Travel Association, Destinations International and Meeting Planners International, National Council of State Tourism Directors membership and serving on the United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board.

Mauricio Ventura-Aragón

Mauricio Ventura-Aragón is a renowned entrepreneur in tourism. With forefathers in the development of the hotel industry in Costa Rica since 1911, his own broad career saw him appointment as Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica from 2015 through May 2018, recognised as Government Officer of the Year award.

In 2018 he received an Honoris Causa Doctorate from University of Tourism of Costa Rica. 

He currently works as an International Consultant for his company Sinergia Consulting Group, specializing in the design, consolidation, development, planning and execution of sustainable projects for enterprises, destinations and governments. 

Vikram Madhok

Managing Director of Abercrombie & Kent, India)

Vikram completed his Management studies in the US, thereafter, working in the banking Industry. He returned to India in 1985 to join the hospitality industry.

He was associated with Taj and The Oberoi Group of Hotels for 13 years. He joined Abercrombie & Kent India in 1997 as Executive Director and was, subsequently, promoted to take over as Managing Director. A&K is a global travel company with 55 offices in over 30 countries. 

Vikram has sat on various Industry forums including the Ministry Of Tourism, India. He was Chairman – WTTC India, President – Indo American Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chairman – PATA among other active roles held. He is also a keen golfer.
