The climate crisis is now at the forefront of the international agenda. Reducing the carbon footprint of travel is the single biggest challenge we face as an industry.

We will be joined by a panel of experts for a fascinating seminar looking at the future of travel and the groundbreaking innovations in aviation and cruise that are paving the way to Net Zero Travel.


Richard is a travel writer and videographer specialising in sustainable travel. Richard oversees a team of writers, photographers and videographers through his media agency Green Traveller productions, which has produced over 50 green travel guides to destinations and over 100 videos for tour operators, national tourist boards, NGOs and a range of organisations, including WTTC and UNWTO. Richard has previously been the Guardian’s Eco Travel Correspondent, Travel Editor of National Geographic GREEN, and the writer of the Responsible Traveller column in Geographical – the magazine of the Royal Geographical Society and has written articles for numerous other titles, including National Geographic, FT, Telegraph, The Times, and The Sunday Times. His latest book The Green Traveller is published by Pavilion Books/HarperCollins.


Chris is Head of Manufacturing, ZEROe Aircraft, Airbus. He joined Airbus five years ago as the head of the propulsion industrial architects team, a role that requires the development of solutions to enable next level industrial competitiveness for future aircraft developments.

Three years ago Chris took on the additional responsibility as Head of Manufacturing for ZEROe where he leads a diverse multi national team of 150 manufacturing engineers to develop the processes, technologies and aircraft co-design needed to secure production capability and maturity before the end of the decade.

Chris brings to ZEROe experience from senior positions with Rolls-Royce, SAFRAN and now Airbus. He has broad lifecycle knowledge gained from global roles across jet engine design, manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, MRO as well as joint-ventures and airline operations.


Andy is an independent consultant and a Director of A&G Jefferson Limited, the consultancy he jointly set up in 2012. He works with Sustainable Aviation to drive and deliver the work programme, giving them their independent voice. As well as playing a key role in the development of Sustainable Aviation’s Reports and Road Maps, on the key sustainability issues; he is often called upon to give evidence to Select Committees; and champion sustainability at a range of events and meetings with stakeholders. Andy has over twenty years’ experience working for both the Airport and Airline sectors, giving him great breadth in understanding the complexities of the industry. His roles concluded with him heading up the sustainability and planning team at Stansted Airport, having previously had a range of roles in airline operations, commercial development, and fleet planning.


Peter joined Silversea in January 2018 after spending 3 years at Imagine Cruising supporting their rapid growth and development in the Cruise and Stay sector. Prior to that Peter spent 14 years with the Carnival Corporation in a number of senior roles across Carnival UK, Princess Cruises and Ocean Village – most notably as President and Managing Director of Cunard Line at an exciting time of their growth and led the introduction of Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. Peter also has extensive retail experience gained as Managing Director of Going Places and Commercial Director of Thomas Cook. Peter started his career at Cosmos learning all aspects of tour operating. In his new role with Silversea, Peter’s extensive experience across a number of travel sectors means he is well placed to lead the planned growth and expansion of Silversea in the UK & Ireland, Middle East and Africa markets.


Graeme Elliott has been Director of Government, Industry and International Affairs at Virgin Atlantic since February 2021. Prior to joining Virgin Atlantic, Graeme enjoyed nearly eight years in similar roles at Heathrow Airport and Manchester Airports Group and has more than 20 years in Government, communications and public affairs roles across the rail, aviation and related sectors.

As part of his role, Graeme is responsible for managing Virgin Atlantic’s programme of political and policy engagement, including advocacy for the sustainable growth of the industry and the development of a UK Sustainable Aviation Fuel industry. He is currently Vice Chair of Sustainable Aviation, sits on the Boards of Airlines UK and BAR UK and IATA’s Industry Affairs Committee, reporting to the IATA Board.
